BII is old, slow, and top heavy. Is yours the 2.9L?
As much as it is a cool rig, and great for camping/off road, I dont think it is ideal for road trips and your intended purpose
Its more suited for say an off road adventure, or "overlanding" where there are tow straps and tools involved, and travel is in groups. Something where the vehicle is part of the destination as well as the journey.
Sounds like you want to just find the place, then park it and strip lol.
I guess my two questions would be are you planning on car camping/sleeping in it?
Also what are your other vehicle options?
It may or not be your best choice depending on your other options.
I sold a B2 to a kid who read that famous road trip book and went on one. He was doing great until a front tire blowout caused it to roll over a few times. Destroyed.Totaled. The kid was fine lol. Dang bulletproof youth.
I should have made him buy new tires. It was a rust and dent free body when I sold it to him, I was planning on buying it back upon his return.
