When I jack up the truck and move the wheels at the top and bottom back and forth. There is a clunk and small movement. It doesn’t move side to side.
wheel bearings are good.
ball joints seem to be fine as there wasn’t any movement when I grabbed the spindle and tried to move it with a lot of force.
also doesn’t seem to do it with the tire off, but I struggled to get much force behind the movements, hard to without the extra leverage of the tire.
The steering wheel also has a shimmy back and forth between ~25-35.
tie rods don’t seem to have any play when I yank them either.
What is causing that top/bottom back and forth movement on both tires?
