20 years of learning, mistakes, and modifications.

Around 200k. Thank you, I tried to be as complete as I could, haha

Micro camper from Ranger service body

I've also got 2 84 b2s, and 2 88 rangers in addition to the 86 ranger, 86 b2, and 98 ranger that have plates, haha

Micro camper from Ranger service body

I think I did get the solar all sorted out, ended up going nuts on Amazon around black Friday and ended up with a pair of Renogy 100 watt panels, charge controller that can charge at 15 amps from the panels and towing vehicle at the same time or 30 amps from each individual source, and a...

Micro camper from Ranger service body

Managed to make some more progress today, got the old leaf spring bushings pressed out and new ones pressed in Then I installed the axle, in my haste to install it before the rain I managed to install it backwards, so I guess I get to install it again 🤦‍♂️... The ride height is roughly where...

Micro camper from Ranger service body

More progress on this today, found a set of decent springs on the truck that the box originally came off of, the heavy overloads will go on as well, I'll adjust them a bit to help with sway and such, should ride better and lower the overall height a bit over the springs I currently have in...

    What did YOU do today?

There's someone on etsy thst sells cut files for a badlands jack holder, I bought them and my buddy and I made one, it was too difficult to get the jack in and out of where I had it mounted though, so I took it off the truck. If you're interested in some pics send me a message.

    Bronco or Bronco 2?

The 78-79 is also my favorite.

    Bronco or Bronco 2?

They're neat looking to me, but the current market is insane, this is bolstered by the fact that I've had my hands into helping build two of them from the ground up and seeing how little there really is to them. Modern ish powertrains make them drivable and fun and you can add some creature...

    Bronco or Bronco 2?

The 66 to 77 are hard to find up this way in solid enough condition to fix up. Just a title, dash, and frame will set you back a grand on average, then the bodies cost around 12 to 15k and you've gotta build it yourself. They're quite fun to drive even without a ton of power too.

    Snap-on rocks.

I also have a hard time paying new snap on money but he usually has trade ins on the truck at better than 50 percent off, as far as ratchets go, there is no comparison in my opinion. Yeah there are higher tooth count ratchets out there but it seems to take far less movement to engage the next...

    Ignition key lock point/purpose?

Its to keep you from locking the steering wheel while driving if you turn the key off. 95 and up manual transmission trucks have it, autos do not, but, you cannot turn they key back far enough to remove the key unless it's in park. 83 to 88 all have the button because they were all floor...

20 years of learning, mistakes, and modifications.

The stock drivetrain was never that great in this one, the dana 28 doing dana 28 things was most of that issue. I decided to go with a late d35 partially because at the time I swapped it in, this was my daily driver and only vehicle so I wanted something that was still decent as far as road...

20 years of learning, mistakes, and modifications.

Thank you Thank you, i appreciate it I've got to familiarize myself with your build a bit more, I'm lacking in the details, haha. Copy away, haha. It's nothing super crazy as far as a build goes but it's kept me busy for quite some time and I think I'm just about done all of the major...

Micro camper from Ranger service body

Well after a bit longer than I was hoping, some progress was made. Went and picked up a good used 3500 pound trailer axle today then we shortened it. We cut and sleeved it, the ends of the axle touch in the center and it is plug welded in several places along with the ends of the sleeve...

20 years of learning, mistakes, and modifications.

I recently saw a thread asking about how long some of us have been here, myself, I've been here 20 years in July. I don't think I've ever really showed off where I started or where I'm at now with my truck, so here we go, this isn't really a build thread but I will cover the major things and...

    Btech GMRS20V2

I've got a large fm antenna for just typical over the air broadcasts. The cab I'm using was a radio delete truck and I didn't feel ambitious enough at the time to pull the dash to feed the wire through the cowl. The other side has a Wilson stainless whip antenna for the cb.

    Btech GMRS20V2

I'm rapidly learning I know even less about these things than I thought I did, haha. I'm in a similar position as you are, with a sunroof and also a roof rack. Running a small antenna on the right rear corner of the hood doesn't sound like a bad idea, and it seems like the only reasonable...

    Btech GMRS20V2

I have two of the Btech gmrs pro handhelds and they seem nice but the mobile units don't seem to be reviewed nearly as well. They're kinda under the same umbrella as Baofeng as well.
