ya that was me. the oil pan had no issue, you just need to use the motor mounts off of the 2.9. and the air box i used the airbox from the 2004 ranger. so I had to cut the fire wall and make a new fire wall with the holes for the new one.

and here is a pick of the interor of the truck with 04 dash.

If you need more pic. I hopfully try to find some more. on the other computer.

Cool, thanks !! In your opinion would a non A/C heater box and body lift clear the SOHC ??

Can I get more pics of how you mated that dash to the interior? Did you have to weld on any tabs to screw it to the body/firewall? How about the steering wheel?

Thanks,
Ryan

..oh yeah...

There is a guy on the ExplorerForum site that has a SOHC motor running in his First Gen Explorer, with the OHV computer, and wiring...

sorry I don't have my other camera at this time. But ya I had to make tabs out of 2inch angle iron. I then riveted the brackets in and bolted the dash in. and for the steering shaft I used a shaft out of a 97 ranger. with no issue. and about the use of a non ac box. I'm not sure about. it seems that the heads are pretty wide compared to the 2.9.
