Hey everyone,

I just changed my transmission fluid a little while ago, and when I start my truck in the morning, and shift it into drive, the transmission will slip as I take off in first gear. It only does this for a few times and then it works fine. I added some of the Lucas Transmission addetive and that seemed to help. When I check the tranny fluid, after warmed up with engine running in park, the fluid level shows fine. There are no leaks at all. Not sure if I still need more fluid or not. Temp gauage reads between 180-195* on my transmission.

BTW its a 5R55E transmission. I never had this problem before I changed the fluid at all.

Thanks,
Keith

the O-ring on the filter might not be in correctly also- then maybe sealing up as it warms up.

Yeah, don't drive it like this. Slipping means it wants to burn up on you. Something on the pickup seems likely to me as well, assuming you changed the filter. With the right filter. And the filter is laying in the bottom or touching the bottom of then pan.
