Hey guys, I'm wanting to beat out a dent I have on my left front fender and it seems the only way to get behind it is to remove the fender.

What exactly is involved in taking the fender off, it looks like a lot of stuff is attached to it :/

Will it be possible to beat out the dent or will I have to be looking at getting a new fender?

Here's a picture of the dent...

It's not too bad and at certain angles its almost hard to spot, but its annoying none the less. My new rims are coming and I want the truck looking good for its new pair of shoes.

What if you used a dent puller? You know, it welds a little stick onto the metal, and you use a slide hammer to get it out.

There are four bolts on the top, two behind the turn signal, one under the turn signal, one on the bottom directly in front of the door and one on top that you have to open the door to get to. I think they're actually 8mm but 5/16" fits just as well.

And thre isnt anything attached to it. The battery tray, fuse box, etc, are all attached to the inner fender. The panel you want is bolted to that.

It easily pulled a dent out of my Triumph tank. Guess that's different than a fender...

I want to say it's a weird size, maybe 7mm? also be careful two of the bolts hold the main distribution box on.

You dont have to touch that. Its attached to the inner fender. The only thing you have to remove to remove the fender is a headlight assembly. And its not even attached to the fender, it just covers up the two bolts you need to get at.

My buddy had a dent just a bit bigger than yours on his F150 near the bumper area, too. He called Dent Master and a guy came to the house and popped it out for him. It was about $70.00 for the call. My buddy told me that was worth it. He was going to take off the front fender and he said that was time consuming to him. It did not need any paint repair. Dent Master can do paint repair as well on a call.

unscrew the inner fender, reach up in there and push the dent out by hand, a stud welder is for panels where you can't get to the back not an easy to access front fender, not to mention for stud welders you have to grind down to metal and fill with bondo because you can't get it smooth...

The inner fender is welded to the cab and the core support. He would need to remove the dented panel as described above.

the plastic inner fender, I know the support goes from the cab to the core support, but there's room for a hand between the support and fender, it won't take too much to get the dent pushed out, maybe a rubber hammer handle pushing from the support to the fender or a 2x4

I was just about to make a post about Rain-X here, but I guess I'll hold off as that doesn't seem much like fab either.
