4 dr gen 1 ranger

I figured I'd drag up an old thread, throw out a few pics, and not give any details. :thefinger:

I thought maybe you had details, you just wanted to make people wonder until you posted more.

What other details do you want? I linked you to his build thread. :icon_confused:

If you are just after the extra back seat room, and are determined to stick with the first generation ranger body style, it's much easier to do what I did. Shorten a b2 cab and graft a regular cab back onto it. If you are still wanting 4 doors, a experienced bodyman could make a set of rear doors out of a set of fronts, with a squared front edge. Check out my pic in the member albums, it could possibly give a few ideas.

did this ever get finished up?
I have no clue, I hope it did.

That thing is pretty cool. I probably would have ditched the stock bed moved the axle back, and threw a flatbed on it. And bam! But thing is pretty badass can't wait to see it finished.

It's almost road worthy, getting close. Still need to get my rear driveline lengthend about 1.5" for the lift. I'm also going to slip in a l.s. front diff. From my son's parts xj. Not sure how that is going to work with a l.s. rear and auto hubs and a manual 1350 t-case. Could be interesting. I've heard that you can't run auto hubs with a man. T-case, don't know how much I believe that, will find out soon enough.

I don't see why you couldn't because you aren't conecting the front axle to the tranny. But I would like to find that out also.

Not really sure why there is supposed to be some sort issue with the setup, the only reason I can think of would be something to do with the hubs not disengaging correctly? And I could possibly see the l.s. only exaggerating the issue, as I said we shall see. All else fails, I still have my manual hubs from my 28 front end.
