Kind of depends on how the truck goes away (in parts are whole), as that will determine what kind of money/parts I have left to build the next thing. So It could be a 4.0 based Ex, 5.0 Based Ex/Merc, or some other brand all together. I'm leaning hard toward playing with the Merc I have right now (since I own it). But since I'm pretty fickle on this, it's hard to say exactly what I'll wind up doing in the end.

29th Offroad trip – 1-1-15 Washita MX

Well I managed to sneak another trip in with the truck for our annual New Years Day run. I didn’t get to wheel the truck as much as I would have like to have as 3 of the Jeeps I was running around with suffered some failures (Dead hub/locker, Popped shaft, no start).

Since the trucks future looks bleak, I haven’t spent any time fixing things on it, so onto the trailer it went for the ride down:

Not a whole lot of photos but a few:

Gee, I wonder why something broke….

So the ranger got to play Tow Truck once again which cut the day short, but any day in the woods is a good one!

The end of the line?

So I've been a bit busy lately, but not with the ranger. In fact, we're coming up on the real end of the line for the Ranger. It's been placed up for sale (Link to CL ad), and I've purchased a temporary wheeler...... another damn Jeep:

Yup, cookie cutter TJ, but it fits the family and gets us out wheeling while we get other things done in life. I'm still hoping to build the Mountaineer, but that's likely another year or so off before I can find the time to do so. In the mean time, the TJ will get the job done.

I know this forum doesn't seem to see nearly as much activity as it once did, but if anyone wants this thing (or parts of it) let me know. If I wind up parting it out, I only plan on keeping the leafs, steering, and axles. So the rest of the truck would be up for grabs (Shell, motor, trans, doubler, wheels/tires).

It's been a fun ride. I'll try to check back every so often, and do a postmortem when the truck goes away.

Wish you wernt so far away id love the doubler.. ive got the cases here but no adaptor

Lol unless i brought the truck and installed it there and then hit some trails isnt gonna happen

Well my rear shaft is a stock ranger rear with the companion flange pulled off then flipped upside down the slip cut off then a super duty 1350 slip welded on (had to wrap the ranger driveshaft in electrical tape to take up 1/16" gap so itd be "straight" then a 1350/1410 conversion joint lol

Not overly worried about it being balanced.

I also dont have a passport haha

Ben, if you part it out, I might get the doubler from you. Been debating building a 54/20 or just buying a ranger doubler...

I'll let you know as it seems pretty unlikely that it'll go away in one piece. I'd like to throw the Trans/Doubler combo up for $1k (1350/1354m)

What's funny is, is it'll be going into 94 xcab (HWW). Only difference is it'll be on half tons and the 4.0 will have an M90 on top. Gotta see where I'm at when/if you part it out...
