Happy Friday everyone.
So question is can i remove the plastic cover over the passenger airbag?
Does it just pry off?
Are there screws underneath in the glove box?

What i want to do is wrap in it a fabric and it is too cold out side for the glue to work so i need to bring it inside...

Please let me know i someone has done this before?
Thanks in advance for your reply's, :icon_confused:

DO NOT PRY IT!!!!!!!!! you will end up killing yourself if it explodes!!!!!!

First, de-power the SRS system by disconnecting the battery and waiting for a minimum of 30 minutes. Now, there are two bolts that hold it in on the underside of the airbag. You can get to these by dropping (dont need to remove) the glovebox. There should be one connector which is colored yellow that needs to be disconnected as well. Make sure to leave your battery disconnected the entire time it is out of the truck as you could trigger a code and have to reset your SRS system. Another note: when you are working with the airbag system, DO NOT have your face infront of it, it will kill you. Try to keep as far away from it as possible.

If you insist on making a cover for the airbag, make sure there is a slit in the center so your cover does not come flying at your passenger if you get in an accident.

Right on dude. Thanks for the reply. And it does not even seem worth the trouble I'd rather tape off the whole interior. LOL I thought i could just pry it off but if it requires messing with the sensor and deactivating the charge. That would suck A$$ if it went off.

LOL THEN MY $10 DOLLAR COOL LOOKIN UPGRAD WOULD BE A $1,000 DOLLAR PAIN IN THE...
THANKS AGAIN FOR THE REPLY...

My 97 does't have a passenger airbag... I was thinking of mounting a 6 or 7' screen and rigging up my old school xbox that just sits around.... haven't figured out where the xbox would go yet tho...
