Sweet, thanks! I think that is about the perfect size

Question for you guys, anyone have a inner(maybe a stub too) passeneger side, 78 HP 44 shaft they want to sell? I need it for a spare just in case. I just order up a set of inner chromo's to match my chromo outers. Let me know if you do!

LOL, I left that point wishing I had my 5.0 and automatic swapped in already, I think that would have made a big difference. I couldn't get the tires speed I needed.

Wheeling like that is begging for 1 tons.....and 40's LOL
we all were surpirsed ow long that shaft/shafts held yesterday.

except judgeing from cheapthrills post that he just did on his thread one tons arnt holding up either...
My tons held up just fine, the tube twisting I would say is something that would happen on a 44 or hell if I did what I do with a 44 I would of probably broke the housing lol.

Ok, cool. Im going over to the garage tonight so Ill check out the situation and see if they are still out back.. i know me and dad brought a load of junk i didnt need anymore to the scrapyard a couple weeks ago, but i doubt i would throw away shafts like that.

i still would like those clear corners for the mustang too.. maybe we can do some trading?

Some parts showed up today, my chromoly im to go with my outer, an a pillar gauge pod for my oil pressure and water temp gauges, and got 3 spicer 760x joints so I will have a spare. And luck would have it I happen upon a good deal on a Dana 60 so I might start a 1 ton/v8 swap at the same time...

$320 is what I gave for mine. And $100 of that I paid to my buddy for finders fee/fuel for giving and picking it up from the yard for me. So I actually have $220 into mine.

Guy at yard said axle was junk and not usable because the pinion was snapped off flush at the yoke. Truth was the inside of the diff was awesome clean. Only bearing I replaced was the bottom pinion bearing (reused all the others) as well as the spicer joints int he shafts were in great shape and reused those as well. Rotors and calipers were even good.

I bought one earlier this spring that was a late 80s ford kingpin for $250.

Kyle here was the link from what we were talking about at lunch the other day.
