Go to 3.8mustang.com, v6power.net, and/or supersixmotorsports.com They are a v-6 champions and the principals of mods apply to pretty much all v6's the same, except fo rthe assholes who tell you to buy a 4.2l. The 2.9 is pretty much in a world of its own but im sure there are a few people there who are pulling power out of them.

Usually I go on an extended rant about how useless that book is--but with a 2.8, it is useful.

I sold mine on EBay several years ago and it went for about $100.

That guy looks pretty young to be the Sven Pruett that wrote that book.

Holy cow! I think they should reprint the book if demand is that high to warrant $235 for a paperback. Even $100 is high!

You're right.

That book is crazy. I bought it new for like $15 at Walden Books. It was absolutely worthless--it laments the fact that the 2.9 and 4.0 have fuel injection and no carb set-ups available. It has these diagrams of cylinder head ports--like you can paint-by-numbers a successful port job. Sure, the guy is a brilliant engine builder. But it doesn't mean the book is useful. Unless you have 20 sets of heads and a flow bench and a test track, what good does all of that do you? By modify he means modify--not bolt shit on.

I have spent 10 years trying to convince people that book is not for them. I even explained it in my Ebay auction. A far, far better book for 2.9/4.0 owners is the Charles Probst EEC-IV book. The engines described in Pruett's book are for archaic racing classes. Ford is shitting themselves because SCCA just approved Honda's 1.5L for Formula Ford--now called Formula F because it isn't a Ford monopoly anymore. Those new Hondas are going to kick the shit out of theose old Ford engines. Ford knows this and has decided they will develop a competing engine. SInce apparently Mr. Pruett is a key guy in SCCA, I think he is more modern than his archaic book.
