I need to remove my axles. My diff has the factory LS. How can I remove the C clips? Does the S spring have to come out first?

No, pull the bolt holding the crosspin, slid the crosspin out, push the axle in, remove c-clip, remove axle.

OK, tried again and got one axle out. The other clip is a real tight fit, I'll try it again in the morning. Noticed a loose "O" ring under the C clip, what's the deal with that? Thanks

is it mandatory that you have the o-rings when you put it back together? I pulled one shaft and no o-ring on the c-clip end...

The O-ring just holds the C-clip in place until you give the axle shaft a good yank outwards.

It's an "assembly aid"

a Damned convenient one...

Thats good to know about the o-ring. When my rear end needed new seals put in it, we ripped it out on accident and never put a new one in but all has worked well for the last 3 years.
