Would like to have it ready for the late summer Cruise-Ins and possibly the Oct. meet, but with my hours bein cut at work, kinda slowed thoughts/progress of the build, so may be next year before yuns see it out!:indiffere

Will post updates as I go along, within reason................

AND to all you diehard blue oval folks: I don't wanta hear any negative crap bout Chevy in a Ford, as most know, I've done it before, and if ya don't like it, :bawling:don't read/view/comment on it!

Pssh, people and their silly GM prodcuts...

Im kidding!

Looks good man, that thing should be one hell of a cruiser, vroom vroom screech screech.

How 'rat' will this 'rat' be?

Whats the other Ranger in the background without a bed?

:icon_surprised: b-i-i-i-i-i-i-g Rat (need more rust & primer on the rod to pass RatRod inspection, tho :icon_rofl:)

It's too clean to be a rat rod. We've got a genuine ratrod here in town. Front suspension is from a VW bug, radiator is tucked inside a tractor radiator shell, body is a rusty model T ford coupe, no ceiling, junkyard bucket seats, door mechanism is actuated with a 1/2 end wrench welded to the lever, no windows, bed is made from "pecky cypress". Fuel tank is a red painted beer keg, rearend is a Ford 9" from a pickup truck. Power is a blown SBC with open headers and spark plugs to light em off. I'll try to get pics soon.

Well at least it's not another 4 bolt main, 350 SBC :icon_rofl: We'll just pretend its a 460 set in backwards.:icon_thumby:

Update 4-8-09

Well, been tinkerin with the RatRanger..............

Modified the radiator support for easier access:

Removed the bed for ease of access, tossed the PITA fuel tank, removed the rear suspension to include brackets:

And installed my NEW Explorer front spring mounts:

More to come>>>>>

Good pic's

It's a high class Ratrod :D

your gonna give rednecks in TN a bad name, combining a chevy motor in a ranger! (i couldnt resist)

:icon_rofl:

is that a 454 in a ranger i spy? that things gonna be sick man. looks like itll fit pretty good too. have fun man. btw nice truck.

[sarcasm]You're an idiot for putting a big block in a Ranger! You'll break the frame! [/sarcasm]

:) :) :)

Slap some fenderwell headers on that bad boy, drop it a few inches, use flat paint and any oddball parts you can find. Like do the floor of the bed with road signs or the tailgate with a road sign. I've seen all kinds of crazy stuff on rat rods. Most is pretty cool and the best part is, they all work.

Looking good!

Superdave, I miss your boobie avitar....
