Alright, I think it's time so I'm launching a build thread. I wanted to call it Project Yard Ape... 'till I found out it was a racial slur...(thanks urban dictionary :icon_thumby:) So I'm settling. Anyways, this is what I purchased in February '10.

First thing was first, I needed new tires and rims for summer (it came with studs), so I purchased these for $100

They had alot of spots where the clearcoat was flaking off

Took the clearcoat off with a brass wire brush on a drill

Then proceeded to sand the aluminum and paint the inserts

End Result

Painted the little hubcaps too

And on the truck with 235/75s

Did gutter-guard grille inserts

Then we took on a bigger project and decided to build our own hard tonneau cover. After doing an adequate amount of measuring and cutting, I attached the angle iron to the inside of the bed and painted it black.

Then countersunk the bolt heads into the plywood and fastened them with epoxy.

Then stuck flooring foam to it (note the Spidey action)

And wrapped the wood in vinyl, and bolted it to the angle iron.
Final Result...

:tease:As far as for the future, I'd like to take the current stripe and "Sport" decal off whereas the truck is not actually a sport (which offends a certain island princess among us (just poking fun RSH :tease:)), Expo/Mustang/Escort seats (depends on what I find) then maybe some prerunner fenders and spacers behind the tires. Let me know what you think.

Looking Good.. If you take the stripe off it may leave an shadow where it was unless you plan on repainting...

I'd love to do a repaint but for some reason the College wants all my money (go figure) so thanks for the tip, I think I'll put it off for a bit in that case.

I like the wheels!

Although, I think a Satin finish instead of Gloss would have looked a titch better. :icon_thumby:

Duely noted. I plan on re-doing them this winter while they're off. I wanna do a proper polish job on the aluminum and i may just do the inserts in satin, thanks.

i really like that the bed cover is flush with the bed sides, makes it look so much cleaner than other covers.

Thanks for all the positive comments guys. Tryin to find time to get out to a junkyard to find a set of seats next, the metal hinges that allow the seat to tilt are sticking through the fabric.
