New here this will be my first personal Ranger SAS project. But not my first SAS Ranger project built one for buddy and he helped me. Which was my 2nd Ford SAS my first Ford SAS was my DD Project Merc (98 Mercury Mountaineer 5.0 V8). Already have about 20k miles on the Merc in little over a year.
Merc build thread here... http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/...d.php?t=303902 The first Ranger SAS was TNT here is pic... ![]() My new Ranger just picked up last Sunday the 15th 92 Ranger 4.0L 4x4 bad tranny picked it up for $750. Truck has 159k and pretty rust free just a few spots here and there. Code name Rock Ranger otherwise known as Double R. ![]() ![]() Already sold the 8.8 and bed off it. I will be keeping this one pretty simple very similar to TNT. Things I will be doing... Trussed Cherokee High pinion Dana 30/ Explorer disc brake 8.8 4.56 gears. Winch bumper with Superwinch 8500lbs Bart 15x10 wheels with 35x12.50 Goodyear MTR Kevlars and Weld on beadlock rings. Jeep Cherokee Skyjacker 6" front coil springs Rancho 7000MT 14" travel front shocks, Rancho 9000XL 14" travel rear shocks. Flatbed with wood bed. LED tail lights Exo cage Bronco II tank Chevy 64" 3/4 ton leafs Shorten wheel base to 113.5" (moved rear forward 15" moved front forward 2") Flowmaster 2 chamber Color Safety Orange Custom sliders Hydro assist Tapped F150 steering box Custom square tube long arms HD heim/DOM steering setup Jeep Grand Cherokee V8 front drive shaft/ 2nd Explorer rear shaft. 2nd Gen Explorer Sport bucket power bucket seats. And for those wondering why the Dana 30 they are cheap and parts are easy to come by. Which is nice if you do need replacement parts. The Mercs D30 has held up to over 13 trails and 35s with beadlocks without breakage so I would say it is very good axle. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Yup TNT has a build thread. I started one on EF. Here is a link. We have done more to TNT since I last posted on it. I will try and update it. Had it ready to roll in just a few days. The owner DD TNT he loves it.

Did pick up a High Pinion Dana 60 4.10 front but I am going to save that for another project.
Here it is in the back of the Merc. I walked into the junk yard and a 95 F350 was just sitting there don't come across many of those so I jumped on it. Talked them into $200 bucks for it. ![]()
