4.0 v/6 supercharger

I believe James86 drives a 3.0, so anything he does (other than a whipple)would be custom.

Im on Crappatalk, I dont see all the details and what not. I assumed he was 4.0, and we all know what they say about ass-u-me-ing

I was curious because the centrifugal blower looks a hell of a lot easier to adapt than something else. I think I saw somewhere that thomas knight makes what I mgiht be picturing...

The other trick would be to get it to still work with flex fuel...thats where I stalled out with whipple kits.

What was the issue? I'd assume with boost you would want to use E85 for it's higher octane.

That's actually the reason I went with the whipple lol! As long as you get large enough injectors (mine are 42's) and have the tune written to account for the flex fuel setup you're golden. With boost, you'd have to run premium. E85 gives you higher octane than premium(better performance, and less risk for detonation) and is significantly cheaper (atleast here in the midwest). So it's cheaper, safer, and provides better performance. Win-win-win.

James, that is the Thomas Knight setup. And it's the only one I've ever seen. Last time I checked, they were significantly more expensive than your average used whipple though. Here's his site if you're interested: http://theboosthead.blogspot.com/

Definitely, but finding a good tuner around me (that can get the tune to work wewith the flex sensor) is questionable at best. So I gave up on a supercharger for the 3.0, and will just drop a 3.5L in when I get the funds together.

3.5 like Taurus/Edge/Flex? Interesting...

My number one pick is going to be the F-150 motor and trans (I like boost), then the standard 3.5 as a back up. I have time though, so I should be able to get a Ecoboost motor and trans (atleast I'm hoping).

That roots setup looks interesting though.
