I recently bought a 92 sport and yesterday the battery died. something's staying on and I started tearing into it. anyway it had a bunch of useless and horribly done wiring for a set of offroad lights and a CB it used to have 2 owners ago. I tore out all the wiring and the switch for the lights/cb, but there was another switch that was run into the under dash chassis harness. a switch with two red wires was run to a pink wire and a red wire with a light blue stripe under the dash and I want to know what for? I looked up what those wires are for on a ranger truck, and they say the pink one is for the trans neutral saftey switch and the red with light blue stripe goes from the neutral safety switch to the starting system. is it the same on an explorer? is that what the wires in question actually go to making what I found out accurate or is it different? why would someone want to hook up a switch to it for? is it some sort of ghetto rigged alarm system? they soldered the wires all together so will I have to cut out that section and patch it or can I just cut the two red wires and tape it off? I want to do a good long lasting job cause this needs to be reliable. any help will be appreciated.
