While searching on this site the part #'s for the Code1 torsion bars were never mentioned. I have an 04 FX4 and my Ranger came with mid level B torsion bars. PN: F57A*5B326*BC
In a few threads on this site it was mentioned that you needed the VIN of a Level II Ranger or Sport Trac(two vehicles that came standard with # 1 bars) to acquire these parts from Ford.
This is not true!!
I got my part #'s from this site:
http://www.fordparts.com/Default.aspx

This thread is also a good thread on torsion bars, and where I discovered some info that really helped me:
http://www.therangerstation.com/forums/showthread.php?t=49018&highlight=torsion+sag

I went to the parts counter @ my local dealership and told the guy I wanted Code 1 torsion bars...he asked for my VIN and I just told him I want stiffer torsion bars than the ones that were original to my truck. I then told him the part #'s that I wanted:

Passsenger:F67Z*5B326*FA
Drivers: F67Z*5B326*FB

Installation was easy with a 2 jaw gear puller I bought from the Harbor Freight store. It's not listed on the website (I got it @ the actual store)but it's a kit of 3 2jaw gear pullers for 19.99.

Here are the instructions I used as a guide during the installation:
http://www.readylift.com/files/instructions/66-2020_Instructions.pdf

I'm 99% sure that this info is correct....maybe if someone with a Level II Ranger can check his torsion bars for the part # we can confirm this. Or if anyone with further knowledge could confirm or prove this thread wrong that would be great.
Good luck........

F67Z#5B326#FA Pass side bar
F67Z#5B326#FB Drivers side bar

These are the #1 t-bar part #'s

I'm pretty sure you got A rated bars which are the next step up from B bars. A rated bars are on explorers not rangers. Rangers are either 1, B or F.

So you upgraded just not the stiffest you can get

It's listed on the Ford website site as A....for a Ranger....there is no mention of F67Z...I listed the part #'s according to the Ford website as I thought this would confuse some.
On my receipt it says
F67Z*5B326*FA
F67Z*5B326*FB.
On the bars it says both A in one spot and Z in another........on Both bars.
If you check the Ford site and plug in Ford RANGER and the appropriate info there is no mention of A bars...just F,B and Code 1's.

There are a lot of different ratings of t-bars because there are different vehicles that use them like the explorer, mountaineer, sport trac, ranger

it ranges from 1,2 A, B, D , E , F in order. 1 being the stiffest, F being the softest.

but like I said rangers only use 1, B, F

the part # I posted above is the correct #1 part number

The facts as I know them - your milage may vary.

Funny I should find this thread today...

I had been to my local junk yard looking at t-bars on Rangers and Explorers today. There was a Ranger that had Code #1 on the door and had t-bars that said A on the front of the t-bars. There was an Explorer that had Code #1 on the door and also had t-bars that said A on the front. (Letter code on the rear of the bars were different - I dont know what those would mean).

I had ordered new Code1 t-bars from Tascaparts.com last week (it even said "Code1" on the part description) and arrived home today to find UPS just dropped them off. The new bars I got said A on the front.

The numbers I order were F67Z 5B326 FA (right) and F67Z 5B326 FB (left). The tags on the bars I got had those numbers (+ the "*" as indicated).

The price I paid was $74.14 left, 74.76 left + $13.40 shipping.

I had also taken out my old t-bars today - Code F on the door, F on the bars. Looking at the new ones Im sure they will fit, but I should know for sure tomorrow...

BTW, I had good results researching this subject at explorerforum.com.

So i reckon the A and 1's are the same? Weird...

Let me know how they fit! Did you order yours from ford and somewhere else? I couldn't find them thru ford's website

Got R Done.

They fit fine. BTW, It would be hard to swap right and left as they are different lengths.

I ordered mine from TascaParts.com using the part numbers above. I called first to make sure he had them - he said not in stock but he called his supplier (manufacturer in Detroit) and said he would have them in 4 days and would ship then, and thats exactly what happened. So I had them in about 8-9 days.

Installed, I had to adjust them almost the same as my old ones (they were maxd). I could probably get another inch but that'd be too much - gives me some to gain if it starts sagging again.

Just for fun I measured the diameter at about the middle of both. The 1/A was about 1.10" while the F was about 1.03". But Im guessing there is other factors that determine stiffness besides the physical size.

Overall Im happy with them. They are not as bouncy as I feared, but then I have more weight than normal. My dad has a regular cab 2wd stepside ranger with "1" code coil springs and it gets tough on the back roads (but feels gooood in the turns :). Mine is firm but smoother than his.

was there enough bar to level it out? Thats all i'm looking for.

I'm a lil worried about tackling them as I have never messed with torsion bars but once. (when I straight axled my yota, torch cut them right out)

You may want to grab a coffee for this..

was there enough bar to level it out?
This depends on many factors... Mostly on how much difference you have now. Depending on options and/or wear over time, there will be a difference among our trucks. Torsion adjustment can raise the front up to 2 inches (or more if you feel lucky or can afford the associated repairs). So if your rear is 2 inches or less above your front then yes... maybe.

Torsion adjustment raises (or lowers) the bias - the starting point for suspension travel. This is what lifts (drops) the front of your truck. How far it goes up or down from there due to speed/terrain depends on the spring rate - which is the "size" of the bar. 1/A is the stiffest rate, not the highest bar. You can usually get more height with a stiffer bar because the (given) weight of the truck will not depress the suspension (from its bias) as much to start with.

Like I said, changing the bars did not give ME alot of extra height, but I wasnt looking for all that. I got my height years ago with my original bars. I believe they sagged a little over time but Im not really sure. I raised a little at first, then some more. Bigger tires needed a little more, then eventually they were maxed but I still had enough height. After the bar change I still had them almost all the way up but they dont bottom out and there is a little adjustment left if they do sag in the future (but I dont think they will as much as the smaller bars).

So to answer your question, Yes/No. It leveled it out, until I put air back in the rear air bags to raise it to the original "rake" (Im old school :)).
