This belongs in a couple sections, but we are going with non-RBV tech because I think this might be as far from a Ranger as we have gotten so far.
1947 Chrysler New Yorker. Crappy brakes. No power assist, pedal doesn't get hard until under and inch from the floor, but does not lose fluid or feel like a leak. Whole system was rebuilt not long ago. Master cylinder has been proven good.
I understand the basic principles and how any of the 4 wheels not being right in this system could have a very negative impact on the operation of the brakes. What I am not as familiar with is the details of the particulars of these brakes.
So is anyone here familiar with Lockheed brakes?
I bled and adjusted the whole system, but I have 2 concerns.
1: The RF wheel, I kept getting bubbles from the upper wheel cylinder, no matter how much I bled it. But it was an odd angle and I'm not sure if an internal line is no good, or if I was just getting air into my bleeder hose.
2: The LR wheel, when I turned the adjuster bolts it never seemed to actually adjust up and get tight, but the bolts did make a popping noise similar to the noise made by a rusty bolt as it begins to back out the first 2 or 3 threads.
So...... ideas?
