2.9 Misses and dies at idle only

You said you changed the speed sensor... but what about the pickup-coil code, is it still there? If I'm not mistaken (please correct me if I'm wrong), pickup codes have to do with the PIP signal from your distributor (PIP stands for Profile Ignition Pickup), which means the hall effect sensor in your distributor (which is also your CMP) is sending faulty ignition/timing information to your computer. I'm not 100% exactly how that system works, but I know that you NEED that signal for it to run properly. Could also be a TFI module intermittently failing. I'd definitely take a look at that Distributor and the module attached to it.

Ok, I have changed both the speed sensor and the whole distributor including the ICM. No difference. It will sit and idle for about 30 seconds, then just die. Checked the fpr and no gas at the vaccum. Any other ideas?

Going to throw it out there....check for vaccum leaks. A small vaccum leak can cause it to idle rough and die at low rpms.
