I'm getting to the point where I would like to regear my diffs and was wondering what you guys think I should change to? I have 33x12.5 tires and use my truck for alot of highway driving and a fair amount of mudding and off roading in the snow. thanks

it helps when people know, first: what you drive, and second: what gears you have in it currently, and something else to keep in mind, if it is 4x4 you will have to change the front gears as well.

I will be running 4.56s with my 2.9l 5spd trail rig/daily driver. If you have a 4.0 I think 4:10s might even work. Depends what you want(performance or gas mileage) more info would help.

For a 33" tire on most RBVs you want 4.56s or 4.88s.

If you do a lot of highway cruising, go 4.56.

sorry abou that guys I thought my vehical description was included in my profile to the side of my post....
I have a Ford Ranger 2.9L 4x4 5 speed with 3.73 gears.
I was considering 4.56 or 4.10 gears..kinda leaning towards the 4.56 though since right now im not even touching 5th gear on the highway.

i installed 4.56's in my ranger. 33 inch nittos and i just got back from my camping trip and it did great up all the hills.. 15% grade or more uphill

my 3.0 runs great on the highway with the 4.56's.. doin 70+ the whole time

You'll want 4.56 or 4.88s reardless, I'll tell you right now 4.10s arent enough for 33s with a 3.0. He has a 2.9 and should get 4.56s or 4.88s.

Agreed. 4.56's or 4.88's.

Any engine besides a 4.0L + 33s = 4.88

There is guys saying 4.88's for 33" rubber? I am planning to install 4.56s for 35" rubber! Whats up with that!?!?

You have a V8.:secret:

I've got 4.56's with 36" SX's and now i'm wishing I woulda went with the 5.13's
