Grounding points

In my quest to get this engine running properly it occured to me that cleaning the grounding points might be advantageous. Does anyone know where to find a diagram of the grounding points for the engine and electrical systems? Has cleaning them ever had a positive impact for anyone?

fyi, the negative battery cable on my '89 2.9 Ranger has a small wire that connects to the body right next to the battery (along with another small wire that goes somewhere else). The large wire (along with another small wire) go down to the frame rail- passenger side- and connect there. Hard to get to but you can make it through the wheel well. This continues on to the engine behind the oil filter. Very hard to get to. Probably need to do that at an oil change on a lift with the oil filter removed.

Generally the larger negative cable will go to the engine block(starter motor has the biggest amp use), then to the frame.
Smaller wires should go to the Rad Support bracket, for headlights :)
And fender/body.

There should be a ground strap from the head/block to the Firewall, for instrument panel, also computer.

The cab/body sits on rubber, so can be isolated from the frame, a loose firewall ground strap can cause odd issues, and loose grounds in general.

You can use an OHM meter to test grounds.
All grounds should read 0 OHMs to another ground
