Hey All,

Just bought my 1987 Ford Bronco II last week. I'm a total rookie at working on cars. Any advice on a certain good quality fuel injector cleaner? Is it even worth it? Just looking for good tips to help my Bronco II motor. Plain and simple.

Thanks

James

Seafoam is my go-to, but if you really want to clean them they need to be removed and have cleaner cycled through them.

I'd start with a fresh oil change, new spark plugs, new air filter and go from there.

Sea Foam is a good product. I use B-12 Chemtool which I add to the fuel tank about every 3rd or 4th fill up. Older engines were not designed to use ethanol which tends to clog the injectors. Since I started using B-12 I haven't had any rough running problems. there's a lot of injector cleaners out there. Some of them didn't seem to work very well.

i use Lucas products, if its a new-to-you truck, id recommend Lucas deep clean with a tank of premium, then use Lucas upper cylinder lube/fuel injector cleaner once a month or so. also Seafoam is great, i run it in the oil in both my quads, as well as occasionally in my gas. i have heard good things about berryman B-12 chemtool, but never used it.

I also put a quart of Lucas oil stabilizer in the ranger but im still working on getting that running at the moment, so i'm not sure if its goin to help my oil burning issue or not

also make sure you are runng quality fuel, dont use the bargain brand from the corner mart just because its 4 cents cheaper

I've used Berryman B12 for several years. I used to have an awd Astro that had a real problem passing a gas station. I ran b12 thru it and got the best mpg (still nothing to brag about) in the 5 years I owned it.

Thank you ALL for your advice. I'll let you know what I decide to use.
