I'm buying a 1988 bronco. 2.9 5spd 4x4. I have a ranger that I'm using for parts. I want to rebuild the motor out of my ranger which is also 2.9. I'm not really wanting to swap motors I known its not a race truck so not an issue. My question is performance cam for 2.9 or can a 4.0 cam work? Want torque for mud and dd. Its gona get 4" lift and 33/12.5 it also has stock locker in rear. Please any help be appreciated

I doubt the 4.0 Cam would work in a 2.9 engine, you may want to look at changing your axle ratio to get you a bit more power.
