Only place I could find to ask. Pulling the carpet out of my 94 ranger with a floor shifter and I've heard that there is some kind of heat shield padding around the shifter and also was told that when it is removed that it makes the inside of the truck very hot , is this true and if so what are you replacing it with? The cab is being stripped out for a cage and the floor will be bed lined . This is a trail truck and is being stripped down to the bare minimum , no carpet ,no door panels ,no head liner . Hope someone on here has done this and can tell me if there is indeed a heat problem that I need to address. Thanks
