Nice!

And BTW, very nice work on the crossmember and the overall front suspension fitment! It looks very sturdy and very professional! :icon_thumby:

Nice job on that crossmember. I'll eventually need to make a new one. I notice the welds are cracking on the Skyjacker one that came with the extended radius arms.

Ok, started tearing everything off of my old bent driver side beam to swap it over to the new one. Found more carnage....The ears on the outer stub shaft have stretched/egged out and now the U joint cap spins in it. Only thing holding it in is the full circlips. Looks like I'm on the hunt for some new shafts again....my 'spare' set have the same issue, so the U joints got welded into them.

Also seams some water got into the bearings on that side back in August and the bearings are phucked on that side...the inner is seized to the spindle. So depending on the shape of the spindle when I get the bearing off...might need a new one of them as well.

If I can find the stuff for cheap/free I might just go with the D44 outer swap.

Just noticed your thread, very nice work (yeah you probably would've regretted trying to reuse that factory crossmember, they bend real easy BTDT).

How much caster did you add to your arms? (asking because it doesn't look like very much in the pics).

Alright.....got some done tonight. New drivers side beam and radius arm is in the truck. Upon closer inspection...all my axle shafts have stretched ears on them allowing the u joint caps to spin in them. They all got welded in.

Was also inspecting the old drivers side beam a little closer...found a nice crack in it...right under the lower radius arm mounting point. Who knows how long that has been like that...

Cleaned up the spindle, threw new bearing races in the rotor and new bearings/grease/seals. Just have the coil bucket left to replace on the driver side and it'll be back sitting on its own weight. Then i'll get it down to work to to an alignment on it.

I'm thinking this is the last time this thing is coming apart....next time its coming out...and staying out. I'm running out of good parts for this thing. Got a 78 f250 D44 sitting here and access to an 89 f350 D60 so I got options.....time will tell.

I like that setup you've got there! That's got to be one of the downsides to living waaaaaay up there, not a whole lot to pick through at the junkyards. Looks good though, looking forward to seeing some pics of it doing what it does best!

Oh, well that's lame! Might as well buy new seeing as you work for a dealership, huh?
