I am adding a trans cooler to my ranger and i think i may have gotten some bad information on which port on the radiator to hook it to. Does the fluid enter the top or the bottom of the radiator first?

Thanks in advance.

Doesn't really matter which one you use.

But if you want to trace it: A4LD, 4RxxE, and 5RxxE transmissions use the Bottom line on trans end as OUT, Top line is IN

On the Radiator if there is a cooler on the side instead of the bottom then the Top line is usually the HOT, like rad hose, so it would be IN from transmission.
But you need to trace the lines from the transmission to be sure.

A 2nd trans cooler is a must for all automatics, regardless of use.
The cooler size and placement determines temp drop, if it is a 10deg drop then whether it is on the IN line or the OUT line wouldn't matter, same 10deg drop.
Popular method is:

Transmission OUT---------Rad cooler------2nd cooler-----------Transmission IN

Thanks Ron.

I switched it to the lower line and confirmed that it was correct.

The setup works great. Putting a gauge on it next week to get accurate temps.
