CV axle question

After 215xxx miles and torsion bar crank, my cv axles are making noise. Can I safely drive without the CV axles installed until I can afford new ones. I just don't want to damage anything.

No, you can't.

If the inner cups, particularly the drivers side, are not there you are probably going to loose a good bit of gear oil from the front diff.

Also, if you don't have the outer cups in place the wheel bearings will come apart. Having that cup bolted in place keeps the pieces loaded and held together under tension with the weight of the vehicle on them.
