I've got a set on my '94 4x4, and I LOVE them. I as well do mostly on road, but I do live in area that gets it fair share of snow. They're a bit noisy at first, but the quite down after about 5,000 miles.
Firestone does make an H/T version of this tire that's less agressive and may fit your needs better.

Good choice on the A/T's Bro. I love the set on my truck! I got them upon the recomendation of my mechanic, who runs them on his own truck.

My credo
"220, 221, whatever it takes."
I just got a set in August. So far I think they're quiet and wear well. Good in rain. Noticeable drop in mpg from the OE all-season tires though due to more rolling resistance. If you live in Louisiana and never go off-road then consider Destination LE's. I got these because 1) not a lot of selection in the oddball size that my Sport Trac takes and 2) Tire Rack's reviews on snow performance are pretty good.
