My new to me 1989 ranger custom has had speakers for a total of 2 days. Each day a speaker dropped and hasn't come back on. I assume that they are the crappy original speakers. I was wondering if my truck has 2 in the dash? There are no speakers behind the bench seat. I've only found the 2 in the doors. My 1988 had speakers in the corner of the dash but my dash has no holes. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
If there are no grills in the dash, then no speakers in the dash.

If it was mine, I would replace the door speakers and add 2 in the corners behind the seats. You might be able to get the trim pieces and hardware for the rear speakers from a junkyard. I recommend Crutchfield for ordering the speakers. Their website is very informative.

The second gen had door speaker. And speakers behind the seat. That's it.

Get yourself a nice set of component speakers for the doors. And call it done.

They are 6.5" BTW
