Ok, my bronco was running quite well and when I started it yesterday and started driving, It died. Now the fuel pump on the frame is not running. All of the parts have been changed and the enertia switch has been jumpered since I can't find one. The ground is good, that was the first thing I checked. The pump in the tank runs but not the front one.It has fuel in the tank!! I have power where I am supposed to but still no good. Could the pump be bad? It is new, only about 8 months old. Tomorrow, I am going to disconect it and hook up power directly and see if it runs. Yes I have had this problem before, that is why everything has been changed.

The original wiring ran from inertia switch to in tank 7psi pump, for carbureted engines.
The frame rail high pressure pump, 40psi, was added for fuel injection.
Factory wiring was a Splice to the original in tank wire where it ran near the added pump.
The splice is a common failing point, find it and check it.

3rd party fuel pumps often fail within 12 months, but they often have a 12 month warranty

I had a f150 that didnt start because the computer was hooped. Try swapping out the computer before you do anything else. Because chances are, most of the time its not the pump, its something else.

Since the power comes from the computer, and both pumps get power from the same wire, up to the splice Ron mentioned, and the OP says the tank pump runs, I'm gonna say it's not the computer.

Sounds to me like the rail pump is bad.
