What would make my engine misfire, only when I am going up a hill, and a punch the gas? I have new plugs and wires. Any ideas? I have Mid-Grade fuel in it as well. I have the 3.0 V6 in a 1999 Mazda B3000. The Flex-Fuel model.

i would check for fuel delivery probably its the pick up for gastank. have you changed the fuel filter in a while?

intake wise our engines suffer from not breathing but the bottleneck is in the intake itself and not the filterbox, now once you get a bigger throttlebody and port the intake and get betterflowing headers, a cone filter will help big time. also rollerrockers help for additional power at this point.

I had the fuel filter changed right before I came home from Iraq. I should have waited till a little after I got home and burned a tank of fuel. I will get it done again soon.

So, let's say you add all the works mentioned into the 3.0... How many HP/Torque will that add to the base values?

A couple dimensions you missed:
Connecting rod length: 5.5315
block height: 8.661
Piston compression height:1.5354
I could spec out a camshaft but, I don't have an empty engine stand right now.
