Well I got my resistor and pig tail the other day. I got time today to hook it all up. I did it a little different than stock. I put the resistor in an aluminum box that I built and then put a 12 volt computer fan on it and mounted up under the dash. It's not real pretty but now my beater has a heater once again.

Here's a pic

Well, good job on the fan...not sure if I would want one mounted under there as that would be pretty close to my coffee cup...I'm sure I'd spill more moisture on one there than they'd normally get inside the heater box...

I've found there is limited space to mount things in the cab as it is...maybe you could squeeze it in behind the kick panel on the right side...but that would require drilling vent holes in the kick panel for air flow...

It's not in a terrible spot, right in front of gear shifter, but I will be reworking it a little. The fan is way too big and moves way more air than is needed. I will be making a smaller box with a smaller fan. It will cut down on the fan noise and still get the job done. I mounted it this way because after reading so many stories about how the heater box caught fire. I didn't want that to happen to my truck.
