ok i parked the 2.9 4x4 1988 5 speed ranger. to put a flywheel in it . it did sit in my garage for about 2 weeks till i got the money and time to go it. but after i got it all back together now it dont want to run good. i can only get about 25 mph out of it in about a 3 blocks. i pulled it back in the garage becouse i had a similar problem before and it was a fuel injector. so i went right to them and i can pull 3 of my fuel injector pluges off the ones on the drivers side and it dont kill the motor down at all. but i pull just one from the passenger side and it kill the motor down. so i had some other fuel injectors out of a parts motor i put in were the 3 that i didnt think were working and still got the problem. so i check the plug to see if they had power the them they do. so just to see i took the ones out of the passenger side and put them on the drivers side and i still have the same problem 3 fuel injectors not working. i made sure all wires are pluged in and vacuum lines were hooked up. any one know were i can look to get this problem fixed i would be very grateful. im at a loss on it i have tried everything i can think of. :icon_confused::annoyed:

Help us out with the punctuation, Please! I am not an editor though. Correct me fellas if I am wrong, but if an injector is stuck, you can get a pig tail and a 9v radio battery and actuate it to break it loose. Touch it for about 1 second, release, over and over until that baby breaks loose Carb cleaner or a sea foam soak can help. I had a friend of mine do that with a crusty old 3.8 in an 86 mustang convertible, and had it running in no time...

I've done the sea foam soak before but actuating it with a battery is something new to me.. Ingenious! How did I not think of that..

The only thing I would advise against is using carb cleaner. I would use Throttle body cleaner that's safer for Injectors. I've heard unconfirmed bad things about using carb cleaner on an injector.

so you checked power to the injectors, but did you check the ground side of the circuit. if you put your test light(not a meter) across the two terminals the light should flash when cranked

I took the wiring harness out of my truck that go"s to the computer .To look for any bad wires and stuff i unwrapped all the wires and only found one wire that. I don't understand what it is for it is the ground wire at the computer . I tracked it though the harness and it went to no were. It was just wrapped around some of the other wires and at the end of it by the distributor plug. It just stops its not hooked to anything is that how it is to be i'm not good at wiring here are two pic of what i mean.

Yeah, it's supposed to be like that. It's stupid I know, but it' just does that. Ground it somewhere and call it a day.

I ended up doing a Heads up rebuild after and now same problem.. Im desperate I dont want to goto the auto shop and have them do whatever is needed to fix it. I see your ranger lookin nice and running well. Let me know please.
