I was on the way to my Grandmas funeral about 30 min ago when my 99 supercab ranger (3.o overdrive auto) just went nuts. the "O/D off " light , ABS light, check engine light all came on and it started making neck snapping jerks between 1st/2nd shift. PRAYING for a quick fix. ( funeral is at 2:00) but I don't even know to approach it from as a transmition problem or a computer problem. I had the main computer replaced with an OEM one about 2 years ago. Truck only has 60K original miles on it. Anybody???? Thanks.

A little late but can't think of any "quick fix" for any automatic.

ABS and trans share the VSS(vehicle speed sensor) located on the back axle, it also runs the speedometer, is that working?

Trans you have is a 4R44E, common issue is bad separator plate but doesn't match your symptoms, and for sure doesn't match ABS light coming on

My first inclination would be to put in LO and run her up to see if it did well. Then I'd shift to 2 and run her up again to see what is happening.
Might tell me a lot about what the possibilities could be.

It was the rear axel speed sensor. ( Had to have it towed). I KNEW that what the problem was, was in the back of my skull trying to get to me. but with the funeral & all I completely forgot about the speed sensors. $30 part ended up costing me $225. Thanks for the answers.

Damn RonD, nailed it right off the get go.

I bet your garage/driveway is always full of neighbors cars.
