Mine works great still...and the 96 had one from factory. Are you going with the in-line or the one that bolts onto the block?

I have one that goes in place of one of the freeze plugs, like the OEM style. I was gonna install it during the engine rebuild, but I didn't have the money to get it right then and I needed the engine that was in the Ranger for the BII.

I know I don't really NEED a block heater this far south, but I am lazy and don't like idling the truck and I do like having heat right off the bat.

I'm told the inline ones are kind of a joke.

Funn-ee man. Reminds me of the story about missionaries to Africa who were trying to convince the natives that condoms were a good measure for birth control. They didn't speak the language well, but demonstrated the goods on broomsticks...months later they returned and found them using the product for everything but its real use. They asked the chief why and he indicated that condoming the village broomsticks didn't work...3 out of 4 couples tried and still conceived...another mouth to feed and a slippery broom handle to boot!

lol... sometimes peoples stupidity amazes me....like the people that sued mcdonalds cause it made them fat or sued a company over frozen pizzas that they didnt know had transfats..... duhhh hello, people ..... pizza and fast food are unhealthy!!!! if you want something healthy eat a salad...... if this is the way the next generations are headed, boy are we in trouble.... as far as the meat thing, that is too funny...... watch the video for montgomery gentry "you do your thing".... he drives by a restaurant with a deer on the hood and a lady starts crying..... then she eats meat after that....people like this would starve to death if society crumbled.

Sometimes you just have to look on the bright side of things. I make a pretty good living off of American citizens like those types.
You know, the sort of person who thinks the dash oil light means it's time to change the oil. They get themselves into all sorts of sticky situations.
Very profitable. :icon_thumby:

I once got drawn into an argument with a guy because his "Service Engine Soon" (equivalent to the Check Engine light) was on and he brought in asking about it. We wanted the standard $79.95 driveability diag fee, he insisted that it just needed an oil change and that we should tell him exactly what it meant for free without putting a scanner on it.

Just count yourself lucky he didn't try to use food stamps to pay for your work. I once had a guy who I helped out with a seized up wheel lug try to buy me a cold pop with a LINK card. I felt like knocking him on his ass.

Years back when I was a foreman at a local textile mill.I would get complaints about foot prints on the toilet seat in the ladies room all the time.
Turned out one of the Asian women was standing and squatting on and over the seat.
Thank goodness the other ladies took care of setting that one right.

About as bad as the woman that called into that radio station wanting the deer "crossing" signs moved somewhere safer. She honestly thought that was the only reason the deer were crossing there (because of the sign). The talk show host tried explaining that they were warning signs (for drivers) and the woman kept on saying the "crossings" should be moved. Its a crazy world we live in anymore.
