I've sen a couple of S197 Mustang dashboards in Rangers. I've seen an S197 dash in a Fox Mustang. Has anyone seen a Fox dashboard in a Ranger? I like the idea, mainly for better gauges. Just wondering.

The 4 eyes I have seen actually do resemble the first generation Ranger dash quite a bit.

If you want something more modern looking you can swap in the later 89-92 Ranger BII or 91-94 Explorer dash too.

I have always thought the 89+ dashs looked a lot like the foxbody dashs. The foxbody has the controls for headlights and stuff build around the instrument panel which would be cool, it also isn't as tall which might lead to some stuff showing that shouldn't but better leg room.

My credo
it is easier to fix and understand than "her"
back in the 80's there were a few different variations of fox dash rangers that showed up at the autoramas in detroit, i had intended at one point to put a 90 mark 7 dash in my truck, but i actually decided i like the gen 1 dash over anything else. i would rather have a gen 1 dash in any later year ranger.

I want to do it for better looking gauges and more of them. I plan to swap in a V-8 and I would like to monitor its vitals at all times, rather than get a light when something has already gone wrong.

That is pretty much where I am at with mine...

Foxbodies probably don't have any more gauges than a first generation unless you have a factory tach. I have fuel level, coolant temp, oil pressure and ammeter on my stock cluster. I also have a cluster of three more under the dash with mechanical temp and oil pressure and an electronic tranny temp.

Did anyone ever try this I have been thing the same thing, but go all the way with the Fox body seats and full console, just raise it up with some carpeted (to match) wood think it would look sweet and really have some function!
