Hey everybody. . Been a loooong time member of this board for research projects and references. I finally have my own ranger now after wrenching on broncos. New to me is a lovely 89 ford ranger stx 4x4. Got it from a budddy while working on a transmission swap for him. A4LD trans is smoked and I have another from a 86 bronco II this weekend. Old tranny is out and awaiting funds to put a good shift kit, filter n gasket in it before install. I am replacing the vac mod also. The upper vent hose nipple rusyed off but I was able to vice grip out the oldremaining piece. Solution is going to tap the aluminum case and install a brass 90* fitting. A new rubber vent line is getting routed high upon the fire wall with a filter on the end. I'll start a build thread of my journey in the sub forums.

How she sits currently:

It already has a 3" body lift, factory lift for the STX package, and 32×11.50's so I am good with that. First though will be the transmission upgrades and install. Then new ypipe, cat back muffler and tailpipe. The y is rusted out on the flanges, reusing the stock cats and there is no tailpipe so that will all need replaced. Sort out all the spliced wiring and correctly solder and seal it up the best I can. Eliminate all the extra ghost wires also that end no where or have been added over the years. Was told it ran fine so this is the immidiete list to get it running and driving again safely.

Future:
8.8 or 9" rear and SAS the front with a rare EB D44 or Cherokee d35.
Ford Vermillion Red impliment paint with blacked out roll bar and Gorilla War flares for an EB. New fabbed bumpers and sliders.
Ditch the ground clearence robbing fuel tank for a fuel cell between the roll bars.
