First I just want to say: I'm starting this not a "build" thread so much as a place to pic whore, keep a record of what I've done, and ask stupid questions. (I have lot's of stupid questions.) There won't be anything wild done with this truck. Maybe with a little luck someone will find something useful in here too.

Now onto the fun stuff.

The day I brought it home:

How it looks today:

And because I'm planning on being a little taller when it's done:

Now that I'm caught up on all the changes. How about some pics of the plans? I've been buying parts all winter.

Non-ac airbox. Because I'm tired of cutting my hand trying to reach the rear passenger side plug.

Dana 35. Because why not?

The shorter driveshaft to make it work with my 1350.

Manuals hubs. Self exlplanatory.

Bigger brakes. Because people always do stupid stuff in front of me.

More bigger brakes...

Anybody know a better way to put this in than the Ruff Stuff simple swap kit?

Explorer springs. 'Cause I heard they're taller and I got 'em free with the axle.:D

Also shocks from the same Explorer, 'Cause free with axle. I don't even know if they'll work for me..

M5OD Because I heard the FM146 wouldn't last long.

And a 1-peice driveshaft. Because simplicity

What do ya'll think of this dent?

Should I be concerned or will it just wear u-joints slightly faster?

Take the driveshaft to a driveline shop and have it inspected and balanced.
even with the dent, as long as it is balanced you should be ok.

Nice collection of parts! nice project!

Well, since the only place in my area that advertises balancing actually can't and since having it done is apparently higher than another junkyard shaft, I'm thinking new joints and run it. If it vibrates badly I'll just get another shaft.

On a happier note.

Guess you can tell, I made it up to Harbor Freight today.:D

I finally got something worth a picture done.

Also, just cause I'm bored:

I made the mistake of adding up my receipts again. (Really gotta stop doing that.) I'm gonna have ~$1100 in the front axle. That's like a months pay.
