I am looking at shedding some weight on my Ranger build and thought of using replacement aftermarket glass. Are some brands lighter than others? And how much weight can be saved? Thanks......Jon

Lighter glass is easier to break.

Lighter glass breaks easier.

The safety spots are not where I would look to lose weight. Not on anything that will be driven on the street.

The windshield I would keep laminated but the rear and side glass I was thinking of 1/8 inch tempered. Currently it has tempered glass on the sides already but it is 3/16.

I thought about lexan but it scratches so easy you can't even hardly wash it. And forget about wipers on lexan the just eat it, lexan also clouds if left out in the sun.
