Martin.......that's the problem.......I wake up tired! The meds for the PTSD take what little energy that I have......but they keep me moderately sane.

I STILL haven't done the last step----I've been looking up at an overhead fiberglass insert that could use some sound-deadening headliner material to make the cab complete.................

and I still didn't troubleshoot the A/C wiring (3 relays in various places need to be tested)

(the little avatar guy playing the violin won't co-operate!)

I can relate to that. I don't feel like doing anything lately, other than sleeping.

Just the end of the day for me.

I'd love to be able to sleep like normal people.

Maybe I should hit you up for some of those gubmint meds...

Enjoy the ride.

Sorry.......I checked the Rule Book....."no passing out extra meds".

Besides......they drain you of nearly all your energy.....but keep you halfway sane

Iv'e just about solved the no-A/C problem.......

I have 2 electric fans......one is for radiator cooling only/the other is for A/C condenser cooling only.....I had a jumper going to both relays so both fans would operate any time the A/C compressor turned on......

the problem was---the radiator fan relay was back-feeding 13 volts into the A/C relay causing the main A/C circuit breaker to pop when the radiator fan kicked on during city driving.......then no A/C.

It took some thinking :icon_twisted: to realize that I needed a one-way diode in the jumper wire between the two relays to stop the back-feeding into the A/C circuit.

Tomorrow I'll solder in a diode and take the truck for a spin in city traffic to make sure everything stays COOL.... :headbang:

I am a now a rocket scientist.........I installed a 30 amp/200volt diode in the jumper wire between the radiator fan relay and A/C condenser fan relay to prevent the engine temp from going over 200*F.

It actually worked on the first try!

Now when I turn on the A/C and the temp climbs above 185*F the radiator fan (which always works correctly) turns on......AND.....the A/C condenser cooling fan ALSO turns on each time the compressor cycles........

The temp gauge never goes above 195*F now because both fans kicking on and operating together drop the engine temp below 185* VERY fast......

no more A/C circuit breaker popping!
