Well I finally got a lot of work done on the truck, only 35 days left until Moab!

First cutting off the existing tube work and sliders from the truck. I didn't design the original stuff with a full exo in mind so it all needed to be changed. I also cut off the spring and shackle hangers.

Next we put the 9 inch under it, in-boarded the leafs to sit under the frame rails and moved the axle forward to set my wheelbase at 117''.

I got the atlas installed as well

And here is how it sits now. That is my friends suburban we have been working on as well, It just got a 6.0 swap from a Denali, a lift and working on dove nose and armor now.

Coming in the next week is the tube for the exo and the new sliders I have to make and weld on. Then it is just some small prep work for moab.

Well I got the exo wrapped up and that good to go. I also got my CB, homemade powertank and some bed storage sorted out as well. I need to mess with the rear a bit to get my shackle angle a little less steep, but it works for now. Leaving for Moab in 5 days. The new wheel base feels great too!

Well I got back from Moab ad it was blast! I drove the Ranger 380 miles each way and wheeled 6 days in Moab. The truck performed great and went almost everywhere I sent it. The road days were my most dreaded, but the truck did good for a 91 with solid axles and a 351w. It was loud, bumpy, hot and got poor milage, but hey thats what I expected. Here are some pictures from the trip, there will plenty of youtube videos coming soon!

The trails we ran:
Fins N' Things
Hells Revenge
Kane Creek Canyon
Steel Bender
Poison Spider Mesa
Golden Spike
Gold Bar Rim

That looks like an amazing trip! So after getting road and wheeling time in, what is the next thing to change?

Thanks for the compliments guys, the trip was awesome! I definitely will be going to Moab next year!
In terms of changes, everything worked really well this trip. Only breakage I had was a hub. I am thinking about links on the rear and possibly ORI struts as well. Time and money will tell though, the truck just plain works right now. I would like a smoother more stable ride though, and I would like to feel like my body isn't going through a washing machine on the faster stuff.

nearly every rig in that damn thing has a dana 60.

if grunizzle gets in he might be the last dana 44 we see!

Im also the smallest tire by a lot. I'm at 37, next tire up is a 39 and everyone else 40"+
I know guys can street drive their rigs on 40s, but some of those trucks don't look like they see street time ever.

Congrats on the Dirty Dozen! I can't believe you've had this truck for 10 years.

And if it makes you feel any better, I am still running 31s with some James Duff parts and it feels like a washing machine above 65 mph. I prefer to think of it as a "vintage" feel :D

id have to agree there. the majority of those rigs look like they threw a ton of money into it for a quick, more bought than built wheeler. its beginning to be like top truck challenge... to expensive for any of normal guys

There are some cool rigs there. Your truck, the Rover, the H3, and the IH are my favorite.
