Default 98 Mazda B4000 Project Budget build SAS

k soo i got this truck for graduation. had to do a little bit of work. repainted it. put a 3inch body lift. the Vacuum hubs never worked.. soo i bought the Rugged Ridge Locking hubs. 4x4 works fine but my wheel bearings have been shit. replaced one side 3 times and the other 2.. but now it seems like the sway bar links and the bearings dont wanna stay in good condition soo im swapping the front IFS to a Dana44 and the rear is just a bonus but ill be upgrading it to a Ford 9"

This is my DD, but once i buy a new vehicle it will become a bush buggy. i plan on putting in a full roll cage in the cab and removing the box maybe and putting massive tires.. i was thinking EXO but thats allot of tubes to be bent.. well see

here she is when i first got her

then i striped it and primed it fixed some surface rust on the wheel wells

Not to long after i installed the Rugged Ridge Locking hubs.
they work perfectly fine but due to the reviews i read i kept them in locked position for 90% of the time. i heard they blow off or break.. bad hub design.. they need to make it flanged around the axle bolts for a locked position and stronger design.

I ordered a body lift at the same time as the locking hubs but installed the body lift about 2 weeks later. and lucky me my father in law had some old Kumho 33's and jeep rims laying around soo he gave me those free of charge!

Painted it with Marine Forest Green Paint bought for 40$ a gal. cheap tough paint.

soo that's the most recent work done to it atm. but like i said the front hubs are going out.. im just waiting them to fail 100%.

im buying this old bronco rolling chassis for my SAS. Dana 44 Drum Brakes on Coil Suspension and the Ford 9" for 400$ this is prob the best luck ive had to find this... install will be easy cut the old brackets out and weld them on my frame!

Finances are a bit tight atm. soo nothing new is gonna be happening for a few months.. once i get the axles ill be working on them but nothing big till next spring just a sandblast to clean things up and paint. im gonna convert the D44 to disks also.

my buddy is also building a tube bender so once thats done ill be building a front baja bumper and skid plate system and rear tube bumper here's my influences for those builds

feed back is appreciated

lost job. cant afford it atm.. might be keeping it but its gonna stay Body lift on 33's. ill do it up the most i can like front bumper, rear, rock sliders and roll cage. not gonna lift it anymore.. might buy a bronco or jeep eventualy. or do the SAS in 2 years or soo. truck is no longer priority.

mkay...then lets figure out why you wanted to solid axle it in the beginning...something about wheel bearings not staying together?? Do you keep putting in used bearings or just cheap ass bearings? I've got 120k on my STOCK bearings and I've been running 35's since about 70k. I suggest going to QUALITY bearings, like Timkin brand bearings.

X2 if you are buying cheap bearing your throwing your money away, and if you are using quality bearings and have gone through several sets, you have already paid for the SAS, indirectly. Where did you get the pic of the front bumper?

Oh well I'm too late to ask what you were gonna do for steering... budget, sas, and sla never go together very well at all... well depends on what you consider a budget build i guess.

Good luck man.
