Flatbed ideas

So here's my 1986 ranger 5.0 efi swap on 37" krawlers among a thousand other mods, I just registered it today and I know I'll be harassed for my almost non existent bed, can you guys show me truggy/flat bed ideas on 80's rangers been looking on google and am having troubling finding any! Thanks in advance I tried uploading pictures of my truck but I'm not sure if it worked I'm new to forums

Sorry, I don't have any suggestions on the flatbed but I'm sure you will get enough from the others. I wanted to ask if you did any bracing on the frame after installing the 5.0?

I've heard that the power of a 5.0 or any engine with more power than the original design can cause frame warping if too much is applied. Removing the bed from what I heard actually helps weaken the structure of the frame...again, from what I've heard.

And I read somewhere that a flatbed would help as long as it is secured and reinforced properly.

So...my question again would be did you do any modifications to the frame to compensate for the added power or was it necessary?

Sorry I just noticed you replied (I'm pretty new to forums) the frames just about fully boxed over with 1/4" steel, and even braced along the bottom of the frame on most of the bends, and the flatbed itself helps brace the rear of the frame a fair amount, and I have a full cage so that's gotta give it a little more rigidity

Hmmm...I was sure I replied to this earlier...lol

Thanks for the feedback. I had to have another look at your pics...the cage appears to be inside the cab so not sure if that will add anything to the rear frame support...and now I saw what you meant by the steel on the back end...

So are you planning on putting the flat bed over the existing items on the back or looking to redesign the whole thing?

If that's your fuel cell mounted on top of the frame I've never seen a flatbed mounted over that...which would be a cool idea for a day tripper...

There was another truck posted on here long ago and the guy did some neat camping/storage mods that had a tent platform over the cab and everything else...but not good for your application maybe.

I'm sure someone else will see this and have ideas for you...
