I was tired of never being able to find my flash light in my truck. So I drew this bracket in CAD and cut it on my plasma table. A few bends and small welds to give it strength and it was ready. I removed the front two bolts that hold the drivers seat and then inserted the bracket and the reinstalled the bolts.

I have a D cell maglight so I ordered the proper mounting brackets from amazon. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00002N9ER?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00 Then I used self taping screws to mount these to the bracket I made.

Here it is with the flashlight in place. It is easily removed while sitting in the seat or pulled out if I am outside of the truck. It is also easy to put back for the next time it is needed.

My credo
Don't vote Democrat.
That's brilliant.

You should make a bunch and market them here. I know I'd buy a set.

Have my driver's side drilled for the brackets for the mag lite, painted, and even installed... no pictures though. Thanks!

It looks like it would be good for a fire extinguisher too.

They got there quick. Lets see some pictures when you get them mounted.

Like this?

The plastic strap that came with this model didn't hold well on its side and was easy for the passenger to kick open. Working on finding a better mount to put the fire extinguisher in. Right now I have one mounted on my exo cage just behind the driver.

Flip the mount over so he kicks it shut?

Thought about that but want to keep the head mounted towards the center so it is less likely to get hit or damaged.

Is the plastic all one piece or can you just flip the strap?

Edit: just bought the same extinguisher... strap is part of the bracket and not reversible without making modifications
