Looks good. I like the square links.

Thanks! I like the square links too.

Anyway, I've hit a snag. I can't decide how to make a transmission mount. The drive shaft is in the way of going across the frame rails. And I can't mount it under the frame because there is a possibility the radius arm could contact it.

So, what I've come up with is build a removable mount from the radius arm mount. It will be built out of 2x2 .25" square tubing. It will come out at an angle from the link and will basically look like a flat hill top. I'm thinking about adding a brace to the passenger side frame rail but that could interfere the exhaust. It is going to be removable. Is that going to be strong enough? Its approx 8" away from the radius arm crossmember.

I will have another crossmember holding up my np205 at the back of the tcase.

I partially completed my trans crossmember. Its not fully welded just partially. I stil need to add some bracing and possibly a plate. I will paint it later.

My next step is to build a cross member for the np205 so it doesn't rip my zf5 apart.

And for the first time in 6 months nothing is holding up the trans under my truck! I feel like I made a lot of progress.

Dang man! That mount is awesome! I couldn't figure my mount either and just ended up using 1/4" Plate from the factory mount. It was so close to just bolting up!

Thanks! My factory mount was pretty beat up so I ditched it. I really haven't done anything to my Ranger in a long time. House projects got in the way! It will probably be another month or so before I can start working on it again.

Where are you at with the project as a whole?

Summer time means good weather which means get stuff done before winter hits! I myself have 2 porches and a roof to seal and time is running out...

I was supposed to go wheeling this weekend but figured I'd just dedicate the weekend to Tonto anyways.... Glad I did!

I bet your glad you spent your weekend to get it running!

Unfortunately summer time also means 12 hour days at work!

Anyway, right now I'm waiting to build a crossmember for my np205. Once I finish that I'll pull my engine for cleaning and assembly

Been working on the Ranger a little. Finally finished my cross member for my np205. It was simple and pretty easy to make.

Mounts look good, thinking of doing the same design for mine.

Engine mounts

I am getting ready to make some flat steel mounts for my engine. I would like to see more pictures of how yours turned out. I had used the mustang convertible mounts on my 1984 Bronco II. I have replaced them once already in the last year and a half. My motor moved and put the fan into my radiator...so I am thinking the flat plate and v6 mounts will be better and help control the sag of the convertible mounts. I am also moving my radiator completely inside the core support and using the old bbq grill rack to help keep the fan out of the radiator. used it back with my 74 EF Bronco and it save my radiator during some hard core wheeling out in Utah. My BII is more of my daily driver but I want it ready for the day I get tired of working and just start driving west...lol. Anyway... more pictures of the engine mounts please. Or email me at getoffroad at yahoo.

The plates are very simple. Basically just 3 holes drilled into a flat piece of steel. I had to shim the drivers side to get it to sit level.

I'm still working on it. Will post pictures soon of my progress.

Oh look at RangerSVT get all fancy! Lol.

Those are a perfect example of what they should look like. My motor is very far forward due to my zf5 transmission. How much adjustability is there in those plates?

Enough that the water pump snout can almost touch the dual core rad, and put the valve covers into the firewall...
