Okay, not really a money pit....but check this out:
Did all the b/s running around trying to fix the starting issue. Turned out to be a duff computer coolant temp sensor.
(replaced the thermostat...harness...etc....newer used injectors..(that solved all my power issues BTW))....
Took it down to work, drove like a dream. However the temp gauge never made it past the line just above the 'normal' on the gauge.
Figured, sense the gauge was responsive--and when grounding it out it pegged.. Probably had something blocking the stat open. (I've had the coolant computer sensor in/out 3 times due to defective NEW parts...grrrr)
Hit Napa and got another stat (195) and the seal. Installed...Same issue. So I know the coolant IS at 195 at the housing. Sense the stat opened and the system purged the air out.
I'll be hitting the parts store for another coolant sensor for the gauge. But it's really starting to annoy me--that all these issues are like domino's falling around it.
