I will be the test subject. I just ordered them. I got 15.00 off on ebay. I paid 478.00 shipped to the door. These will be going in a 98 4x4 torsion bar ranger.

Sorry, the front end and other assorted parts from that truck are going on the 2000 that’s getting the V8 so it will be a 2005 look alike.[emoji4]

Well they have arrived. It is going to be a few weeks before I can install them because we are getting our doublewide set up Monday and I will have no time for a while to install. I will upload some pics of them later. I am getting an error when trying to do so. I checked the headers over with a flashlight in the dark and did not find any cracked/bad welds.

[emoji106]I can’t wait for the review! I’m thinking of going with a Cherry Bomb Extreme muffler, and would love to install headers at the same time.

I’m planning on removing the drivetrain from my Ranger next Saturday, I’ve been helping my friend (where my Ranger is) clean out his barn (30 + years of car parts) the past few weekends.

I know they said it is tight getting them in there. When I was in the process of removing the 5.0 out of the explorer it was tight getting to the exhaust because the way the fender wells were made. I had a ton of room when I dropped it in my ranger. The passenger side I just reached through the fender well and tightened up the collector bolts.

Yep, I may have went a little overboard. But now fitting the V8, 5speed, transfer case, drive shafts and exhaust should be a lot easer.[emoji41]

Craig, did you have any trouble with the condenser fitting into the Ranger? I had a little time on Saturday to continue working, but it definitely won't drop in. The plastic brackets on the outside of the condenser interfere with the metal arms going vertically down to the trough that the condenser rides in.

I think you use the Ranger condenser, here’s the list of parts you’ll need from the Exploder and no mention of the condenser, only the A/C lines.

A complete Explorer with a 5.0L AWD would be the best place to start. If not, you'll need these parts from a 5.0L Explorer:

Complete Explorer 5.0L engine with all accessories, wiring and computer

Battery cable harness

Cruise cable

Throttle cable

Radiator

Radiator hoses

The high pressure power steering hose

A/C lines

Exhaust manifolds and Catalytic converters

Transmission and transfer case

Airbox, MAF, and Zip tube

Fan and shroud

Motor mounts

Fuel pressure regulator
