Rear axle hose ever go bad?

Just wondering! I have one brand new still in the bag just getting tired, want to start driving the truck LOL

The back brakes do bleed and the rabs valve has been bypassed, so can I assume the hose is probably okay?

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
Its your judgement call. If a front hose went bad and they are all the same age, the others probably aren't far from failure. If its severely crack on the outside, fittings badly rusted, etc. That might be another indication that it should be replaced. Brakes are safety equipment. They save your life and the lives of those driving on the road near you. If in doubt, swap it out. By my experience, a simple brake hose replacement is much less expensive than the combined price of a ride home on a roll-back plus replacement of hose, pads, calipers and rotors

I'm going to leave it for now maybe replace it when we pull the bed to do some repair work on the cross member and rear bumper brackets

Yes, they do go bad. When I had my truck apart two years (end of summer 16) ago I found mine, which was not that old already, was in bad shape. That hose would have been installed in 2011 or 12, when I did the rear axle swap, and when I was running my new brake lines I found a huge goose egg in it.

If you aren't having any issues I'd let it go for now, but while the bed is off is the time to do it. You will never have better access.

Summer coming fast and I need to find the leak in the air conditioning! it's just kind of a bite in the butt as I spent most of my life in the air conditioning business LOL

Does that baby hard with leak dye and charge it up.

I'd just dump a whole bottle right into the accumulator.

Will do!

It leaks right out over 24hrs.. a leak that large should be audible.. but.. nada. but also, I've not really spent any time on it.

I still have dye from back in the day but can't use it with 134A it's in mineral oil LOL I'm stunned how cheap they be selling 134A in the stores now.
