I was told at a few years ago that there is a car that was factory supercharged with a 4.0. the individual that i was talking to told me that the supercharger would pretty much bolt directly up to my 4.0 in my 03 ranger.. i dont really know much about any of this but i would like to learn. allways looking for knowledge. any advice or input is appriciated..

a v6 4.0 cologne cammer?

or a v8 4.0?

theres several gm based superchargers you can adapt. not sure i remember seeing a cammer cologne with a factory supercharger on it.

theres a guy working on some stuff for the 3.0 and the 3.8 style supercharger on this forum somewhere, and there are several supercharger systems that are or have been available for these platforms. those are likely what was mentioned to you.

You have a Ford 4.0l SOHC engine in an '03 Ranger.

No, Ford never offered a 4.0l SOHC supercharger(or turbocharger) in any of its models as an option.

There are a few 3rd party "kits" or DIY options to do this.

Google: ford 4.0l sohc supercharger

Rangers had the 4.0l SOHC engine from 2001 to 2011

From 1990 to 2000 Rangers used the 4.0l OHV engine which is a completely different engine, so make sure you are looking at SOHC parts, not OHV
